Russ Bender

Russ Bender (January 1, 1910 – August 16, 1969) was an American actor.

Before becoming an actor, Bender wrote detective stories for magazines. That part of his life was interrupted when he joined the Army. By the time he returned to civilian life, the market for such material had decreased. At that point, he became an actor. Even then, he continued to write to some extent, creating script for five films as well as "numerous television scripts".[1]

He appeared in the films The War of the Worlds, It Conquered the World, Dragstrip Girl, Badlands of Montana, Invasion of the Saucer Men, The Amazing Colossal Man, Motorcycle Gang, Cowboy, Suicide Battalion, War of the Colossal Beast, I Bury the Living, Hot Rod Gang, The Restless Years, No Name on the Bullet, Compulsion, Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow, Walk Tall, The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come, Anatomy of a Psycho, The Purple Hills, Lover Come Back, That Touch of Mink, Panic in Year Zero!, Air Patrol, A Gathering of Eagles, The Strangler, Raiders from Beneath the Sea, The Satan Bug, I Saw What You Did, Wild on the Beach, Space Probe Taurus, The Navy vs. the Night Monsters, Devil's Angels, Live a Little, Love a Little and The Young Animals, among others.[2]
