Paul Shearer

Paul Shearer is a British actor who is best known as a member of the Fast Show team. His best-known roles on that programme are as a newscaster and a variety show host on the European television parody sketch 'Chanel 9'.

He also appeared in adverts for the furniture store SCS as well as doing much voice-over work for adverts and TV shows.

Educated at Lancing College and St John's College, Cambridge, where he studied computer science,[1] Shearer was a member of the Cambridge Footlights and in 1981, along with Stephen Fry, Tony Slattery, Emma Thompson, Penny Dwyer and Hugh Laurie, was part of the team that won the inaugural Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.[2] He appeared with Fry, Laurie, and Thompson in the short-lived ITV series There's Nothing to Worry About!
