538 Juize (2008-2012)
In 1999, 538 started the hip-hop and contemporary R&B program Juize, which was presented by Niels Hoogland. On 18 July 2004 a radio station Juize.FM was established as a spin-off of this program. Meanwhile, the station belongs, with 16,000 listeners daily, to one of the five most listened Dutch radio stations over the internet. From 1 July 2005 to 1 December 2008, Juize.FM could be received in the greater part of the Netherlands via cable with 4 million cable connections. In addition, the station has been exactly one year after the start began presented programs, including Niels Hoogland, Yes-R, DJ Jeff, Negativ and E-life. Highland gave this even his daily radio program on 538 on order in addition to his role as program director of 538, Juize.FM and Radio 10 Gold, to focus on the expansion of Juize.FM. But since 18 November 2008 there are no presented programs. Juize is now heard via the Internet, digital cable, satellite.
On 2 September 2012, 538 Juize could be heard for the last time on 538. After 13 years the program moved from 538 to Slam!FM. Since then, 538 Juize is simply known as Juize. Furthermore, the program on Slam!FM will remain unchanged. The digital channel over the internet remained the same, but via Slam!FM.
Since the acquisition, an evening program on Slam!FM is every Sunday from 20:00 to 00:00 hours devoted to Juize, presented by DJ Jeff. Every week, acquaintances also comes along the (mainly) Dutch hip hop scene.
