This is the story of four sisters, Purva, Smriti, Aakashi and Anokhi who live in Baroda with their parents, Sevantilal and Revti Shastri. Purva is a free-spirited girl who is grounded in the values given to her by her parents.

Plot

The story revolves around the four Shastri sisters - Purva, Smriti, Aakashi, and Anokhi, who live with their parents, and later, their widowed aunt.

On Purva's wedding day, her parents die of asphyxiation inside a locked room that catches fire. Her wedding is cancelled and she ends up marrying her brother in law Mihir to take care of her nephew, after her sister Smriti is declared insane by her in-laws.
