Barriers of Society is a 1916 American silent drama. Based on a story by Clarke Irvine, the film was directed by Lloyd B. Carleton and stars Dorothy Davenport and Emory Johnson. It was released on October 16, 1916, by Universal Film Manufacturing Company. [1][2]

The movie was filmed at Universal Studios in Universal City, California. [1] It also went by the alternate title of Souls Adrift. [3]

Preservation status

Only the first reel of this five-reel film survives in the Library of Congress.[4]
